I had the opportunity to go out tonight with just the big girls (and it was fabulous!) We had great food (taco bell) and great conversation... Bekah started telling us that the school police officer was giving a talk about bullies and such and shared a story about a 1st grader who was being bullied by another 1st grader (which was a very difficult concept for our 1st grader to understand - why wasn't the bully older and bigger?) Anyway, so, the picked-on kid brought a gun to school and shot the bully. Anna was enthralled with the whole story, and after much clarifying Anna replies, "did he have to move his clip?" Hmmm... moral of the story - moving your frog clips from the good log to the bad log is much scarier than a 6 year stint in juvey.

This Months Day Off
Of course a pumpkin patch were each kid picked out the biggest pumpkin they could find (and would have only cost $400 - so being the voice of reason I suggested) we take pictures of them with the biggest pumpkin they could find and then only bought one gigantic family pumpkin. Where would we have put them all anyway?
We just got back from Anna's school conference, and while Anna had a glowing report (for which I'm proud) her teacher said one thing that made me more than proud. There is a little boy in her class who has limited use of his arms, Anna's teacher said that Anna is always willing to help, and never makes a big deal out of it. She just quietly picks up his pencil or helps him turn a page - she sees a need and just takes care of it. For that my Anna -Service to others and a true sense of compassion are character traits that I am more proud of than any of your other accomplishments.

Side Note
Because the cake did get on the carpet. Craig shampooed the entire houses carpet that night. Something that has been on my to-do list for weeks. So really cake on the carpet was a huge blessing in disguise! Thanks Honey!
