The beginning of the end...

What a day!
Kaid's last day of preschool - now it's off to kindergarten.Quinn's last day of preschool - though he goes back next year, but the fact that he started mid year and has never looked back...
Lexsie - I can't call her the baby any more. potty trained (kinda - won't wear pull-ups) and no longer in a crib.

Everybody is moving on and getting bigger and there aren't anymore babies coming so I guess that puts us 'officially out of the baby stage' and it has crept up on me and hit me smack in the face this morning!

Feeling Loved

Mother's Day was wonderful. I spent the day being a mother. You know, it was totally different from every other day (well I didn't mow the lawn like I did last year). I set my self up for success this year because I just kept remembering my friends post from last year about her 'husband-as-a-resident-mothers day' (Aimee!) In other words I kept the expectations very simple. But I directed the primary kids in singing a song for there mothers which they did a truly wonderful job on, I treated myself to taco bell (which those of you who know me aren't surprised) and then headed home for a quiet afternoon relishing in my motherly duties. I did get a beautiful bouquet of flowers from my husband (which he thoughtfully made sure I had every child's color in) and my neighbor brought over a little smelly lotion gift which is lovely, and my girls made me go to 'time-out' in my room which was really one of the best gifts they could give me. They cleaned the kitchen, and cleaned out my Tupperware drawer, took care of the babies, and made sure I had a delightful nap (thank you Bekah and Anna). They all had cute little gifts they had made at school - which I will always treasure. BUT - it wasn't until I cleaned out my church bag yesterday and found this little list that Bekah made that really made me my heart skip a beat! First, Bekah made a list! Second, She knew exactly what I would love! Third, she included all the children in her efforts. Thank you sweet children! You make your mother feel loved!

For My Sister

Stacy you said you needed a funny post...

Because I needed a shower this morning, you know the kind that include shampoo and a leg shaving, my instructions were, 'make your beds, and get dressed and then you can watch a cartoon.' Knowing this would be strong motivation to get the job done quickly, and knowing I laid out all their clothes so there would be no excuses, I hopped in and then out of the shower.

Quinn followed my directions exactly... I guess I forgot the part about taking your PJ's off, and he missed the part about where I had laid his clothes out!

It's off to school!

Exhausted

OK, you wouldn't think meeting with a financial planner would be that big of a deal, but there is something about laying out your debt (too much when the mortgage, student loans and car loan are added up) and giving him a copy of your residency paycheck (which is just laughable when sitting next to the debt numbers) doing it at home with the 2 babies (who I neglected to find a babysitter for - sorry Craig!) after Craig just got done working all night, getting 3 kids off to school at 7 am, 8 am ,and 9am, stopping at the gas station for donuts (so I can offer him something besides Cheerios) doing a quick clean up of table, floors, and bathroom (tho my feet kept sticking to the juice I obviously missed under the table), just as the PTO calls and starts asking questions (of course Craig answered the phone - I personally have no shame in screening calls until a more convenient time) and then financial planning guy starts asking for interest rates and loan balances and how much we put down on our house and frankly, I have kept every piece of paper that has ever been given to or mailed to us and put it in a nice big pile thinking I'll get this organized... all the while Lexsie insists on showing this nice, single,-no-kids-guy-in an expensive suit her very loud and now covered in donut dragon. The poor man left our house and Craig says, "I need a nap." Amen to that!

Well I finally got to do it. I went to Time Out for Women. I've heard so many great things about the conference but was always moving or having a baby when they came around. Not this year. So I mentioned to Craig I would like to go and he said that sounded great but he couldn't change his schedule at that point so we would have to wait and see what his work schedule would be. As fate would have it (or a helping hand from Heavenly Father who knew I needed a little break) Craig had the entire weekend Friday, Saturday, and Sunday off! This never happens soooo... Off I went! We ate too much, stayed up too late, and slept in until I couldn't force myself to sleep anymore... Ahhhh it was good.

Renee got to meet somebody famous! (You'll have to ask her - I missed the movie he stared in!)
