So we were studying ancient India... and had to make a map. Outta cookie dough! FYI - skittles get very hard when you cook them!

not a slobbery kiss
So I walked into the room and caught Lex and Quinn 'fancy dancing.' There was dipping and cutsey's and all sort of grandness going on. So I tried to capture a bit of it... You can't hear Lex on the video, but at the end she tells Quinn, "this is where we kiss, but don't make it a sloppery one." Laughing!

Spring Break
We started out our lovely week with a trip to pick up Bekah from the airport, and then racing across town to be at the 3 littles Gymnastic meet (only for it to be postponed and hour -ugh!)
Lexsie's princess crown.
Despite Quinn's look on his face (he was trying to look tough) they were all excited for the meet.
So excited, that I turned around and Quinn was doing push ups to 'get in shape and be ready'
After working the night shift, Craig assumed the sleeping position...
I just think it's funny to torture Bekah with weird pictures of herself on my blog
Anna LOVED every minute of being the doting, supportive sister!
Then the family spent a very nice week in Port Aransas.
Hermit Crabs were the souveneir of choice. Which led nicely into a science unit on Hermit Crabs.
King of the hill...
The progression of a cart wheel
Lexsie running from something imaginary.
Anna being silly!
And yes, it was cold enough to wear a jacket! I was the only smart one in the bunch! The rest were simply crazy!

Parenting Failure
I failed my kids... I was always singing the Davy Crockett song and was so disappointed my kids didn't know it, or even begin to get excited over a coon-skin cap. I decided it was high time they was educated! We read a book about Davy Crockett, got em excited, taught them about the battle at the Alamo, and then went to one of the their reenactments! What fun! It was really neat to walk into the complex and have Quinn shout, 'that's Santa Ana!' He knew who he was, what he did, and what kind of uniform he wore. Then we got to meet 'Colonel Travis' who taught us about the cannons used during the battle, and then we got to go eat and lets face it, that may have even been cooler than a coon skin cap. (if you can't tell - they were melting at that point)
Great Trip to Colorado
We were able to drive over the Mesa and see all the beautiful leaves changing!
Showed the kids where Craig popped the question... He was nervous then, I think I was just as nervous this time because Kaid and tall cliffs are a dangerous mix.
Grandpa gave driving lessons on the lawn mower.... Anna very cautious (of course) never exceeded the speed limit.
A little Father/Son bonding. Love IT!
Kaid's parting comment when given control of the mower, "see ya sucker!"
It became obvious that Quinn's one time driving experience of my suburban at age 2, was not sufficient for him to be alone on the mower at age 5.
And of course Lexsie patiently waiting her turn, but don't mess with her turn or she would let you have it!
Thanks Gramps and Cass for hosting our little vacation!
